FAQs - VENTURES

  1. What are Ventures?
Venture scouts, or Venturing is a youth development program of the Boy Scouts of America for young men and women who are 14 (and have completed the eigth grade) through 20 years of age. Venturing's purpose is to provide positive experiences to help young people mature and to prepare them to become responsible and caring adults.
  2. I have a young girl who would like to volunteer as a Jr. Helper. Is this possible?
If your daughter is 14 or older, we ask that she join Venture Scouts so that she will be covered under the B.S.A. insurance policy. Once registered as a Venture Scout you may register her as a Jr. Helper on the registration site.
  3. What if my daughter isn't 14 yet, can she still be a Jr. Helper?
If your daughter is between ages 11 and 13 she may be a Jr. Helper. However, she will not be covered by B.S.A. insurance. You will need to provide her own insurance.
  4. I would like my daughter to be assigned a specific station. Is that possible?
We attempt to accomodate station requests, whether that be working with their parents or siblings or working on a favorite station. However, we may not be able to accomodate every request. Please understand, every attempt will be made to accomodate your request but we do ask that you are flexible if this just is not possible.
  5. MHow do I register my daughter as a Venture Scout?
Fill out the B.S.A. application, specifying Venturing at the top of the application. See: Venturing Application
